Paris and Doggie Carwash

Paris, TX is a cute little town with a mini Eiffel Tower.  It’s a short drive from here so we decided to go explore it with Auggie and Kai.  We loaded up some snacks, water, and our backpacks for a day of fun of adventure.  The dogs don’t care where we go and they were not impressed with the Eiffel Tower with a cowboy hat.  Rude!  We didn’t bother telling the dogs that we would be taking them to the doggie carwash later because it would have ruined their fun.

We made our way to Trail de Paris.  Kym immediately found the map and could not go any further until I snapped a ‘Legend’ picture.  This crazy woman lights up my life in more ways that I can explain.  She is always quick-witted and randomly says the funniest things.  I am confident that I have laugh-spit on her more than she ever thought possible.

It was a gorgeous day and perfect for a stroll through this beautiful trail.  We love our time walking together and talking about everything, or nothing, while the dogs sniff everything within reach.  Auggie and Kai get so excited when we meet people on the trail.  Auggie thinks it is her job to give love and kisses to each person she sees.  They love giving love and receiving attention.

One of Kai’s great pleasures in life is rolling and dragging herself across the grass everywhere we go.  It immediately makes me smile to watch her enjoying herself so much.  She rolls for a little while, gets up and walks a few feet, and then does another somersault so she can roll again.  It’s like doggie olympics and you are watching her choreographed floor routine.

Doggie Carwash

I’m not sure if you have used the doggie carwash in Hallsville, TX.   If you haven’t, it is definitely worth it.  During the summer, we generally wash the dogs in the backyard so they can run and play afterwards because they get super frisky after a bath.  However, the colder months, there is no way we would wash them in the cold and they are too big to be comfortably bathed in the bathtub.  I know there are several of these types of doggie wash places but the one in the Hallsville is the closest to us.

I call it a doggie carwash because it is similar to an old-school manual carwash.  It’s enclosed and locks from the inside but you can also slide open one of the doors for fresh air because there is a grate on the bottom half so your dog can’t escape.  Obviously, if your dog is small, you might want to verify that they can’t fit through the grate before you leave the door open.  You can put your dog on the raised tub area or you can wash them on the floor.  When you put your $10 in, or use your card, a 12 minute timer starts, which doesn’t seem like a lot but it is plenty of time.  You select what you want to use such as rinse, oatmeal shampoo, flea/tick shampoo, pet deodorizer, and conditioner.  And when you are done rinsing, you can use the dryer.

They don’t hate the bath as much as some dogs.  They don’t like it, but they tolerate it.  It’s just nice to have somewhere to take them to get a decent bath.  I wish we could get a doggie carwash near the dog parks in Longview.  Some of our trips to the dog parks have resulted in major mud issues!!  They enjoy themselves so much that I can’t bring myself to stop them from playing and getting dirty!

Shouldn’t we all live like that?  Go 100% at anything that makes you happy.  If you get dirty, so what!?!?   You can clean up later.  Get muddy, get sweaty, and have fun.  Live life now!  Don’t wait!!
