Tons of things have been happening this week!! Kai and Auggie have pulled some crazy shenanigans, made me laugh, and apparently decided that I didn’t have enough work to do. They made it their mission to fill my extra time with work. I also had to deal with a huge pothole just outside my driveway.

These dogs……..have mercy!!!

Kai has an upset stomach so I have to give her some Pepto-Bismol. She HATES it!! Physically hates it. She jerks violently when you get anywhere near her as if the 1 tsp of Pepto in the syringe is an electric cattle prod!! And this is when you walk towards her, not when you actually get the Pepto in her mouth. As soon as she sees the pink syringe, she starts wildly flailing around. She went to her kennel and refused to come out because I was holding the Pepto!! I finally resorted to climbing in the kennel with her. Fun times. I was finally able to coax her into letting me put some Pepto down her throat but not before Auggie decided she needed to join the party. Now listen!!!! The kennel is not THAT big. Definitely not big enough for me and two dogs that weigh 50+ pounds. I was cramped and trying to figure out if there was a way I would be able to get out without having to call a neighbor for assistance. Wouldn’t that be the talk of the block!?!? Luckily there is no footage of it….but I managed to guide Auggie out of the kennel backwards, with her protesting the whole way and trying to shove her way back in. Kai made no gesture of leaving so I wiggled around until I got into the correct position and was able to slither out the kennel, feet first like a breech birth, until I was completely on the floor, flat on my back.

The overnight pothole………..

I was shocked to walk out to get the recycle can and find this massive destruction. This happened in ONE DAY. I knew that the problem was coming because there was a small hump in the road a few feet next to it where it appeared a heavy truck sat still for too long and squished the asphalt to the side. But the crater happened in one day…..it was perfectly fine when I put the trash cans out Tuesday night and was destroyed when I went back to collect them Wednesday afternoon.

Luckily I remembered that I had downloaded the CitySend app a loooong time ago!! This is an app that I highly recommend if you live in Longview, Texas. This app allows you to submit service requests and gives you access to many topics including Recycling and Trash Services, Maps and Tours, Community Calendar, and News & Events. I sent these pictures and location with a service request on the app around 8pm Wednesday. The next day at around 9am, they city was outside my house fixing the road!!
