Coffee and Goats

Hey lovely!!! Just a quick note…..I am more than a little behind on posting my pics and stories!! Please hang in there while I try to catch up on posting what has been going on! I have been swamped to the point of dropping like a myotonic (fainting) goat every time I get still. Get ready for several posts that should have been posted long ago.

As spring was approaching, I started to get ecstatic. The cold and rain was depressing and I am not equipped for dreary weather. I tried to find ways to make the gloomy days tolerable. What better way to do that than with coffee? And goats……goats always make you smile!! No matter what is going on, when you hear a goat say “hhaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy!!!!”, it will brighten your mood!!

Coffee

Coffee has always been there for the great memories in my life. Memories of sitting around with my family always involves coffee —— from games around the table, breakfast in the mornings, homemade cake or pie in the evenings, and on and on. So, when I get a chance to sit and have coffee with my family, I am jumping at the opportunity!! Let the coffee memories continue.

I met mom at a local coffee shop in Marshall. The weather was a little cool but we were able to sit outside and enjoy our coffee at Joe Pine Coffee Co. I couldn’t tell you what we talked about, but I can tell you that I enjoyed spending the time with her. She brought me a loaf of snickerdoodle bread. I had never had snickerdoodle bread but I am telling you…..OMG…..it is amazing!!! I don’t know if there is a better bread loaf available. I love her pumpkin bread, banana bread, zucchini bread, and strawberry bread. But that snickerdoodle bread…. shut it down!!

Coffee and Goats

A few weeks later, I was able to sit and have coffee with my sister and niece. Thankfully, we sat inside at Starbucks so we didn’t have to contend with the cold or rain. We sat for a while, talking about everything and nothing! Kynlee made her way around, greeting as many people as she could. She enjoyed the coffee that we got for her (it was a cup of whipped cream).

I hope you take the time to slow down and grab all the moments you can with the people you love! Make time, even if it is only for an hour.

Goats

HAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!! Kym’s dad has lots of goats. We decided to take Kai and Auggie out to see the goats because they have a lot of energy to burn!! We couldn’t burn the energy in the ways were are accustomed to until Kai finished her heartworm treatments. So we tried to introduce them to new experiences!!

They saw goats for the first time in their lives. The experience was nothing short of awesome.

Coffee and Goats

We did not let Kai in the pen with the goats because we didn’t want her to get over-excited but stopping her from dragging me up and down this fence line was next to impossible.

Coffee and Goats

Kai would have stayed out there all day! Even from the car, she couldn’t stop looking at them!

Coffee and Goats

The day was a success and we accomplished what we set out to do, which was to give them some mental stimulation to compensate for the lack of physical exercise. This is one of my favorite pictures from the day…….

Coffee and Goats

Kai looked out the back window as we drove away and ended up falling asleep against the back of the seat. It can’t possibly be comfortable. I can’t tell if she is keeping her back to us because she is mad that we left the goats or if she is just so tired she dropped into whatever position she could get into. Eventually, she turned around and they napped until we got home.

Coffee and Goats

I read this quote somewhere and it is so true…….”Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself”. That is a perfect quote for life right now. We didn’t expect to be on this journey with Kai but we are creating the best days possible with the cards we were dealt.

Thank you so much for following our journey. Our lives are enriched because of you. You make our journey worthwhile.
