I……HATE……THE…….COLD!!! I know you have heard people say that you can always put on more clothes. Lies. I might have the option to put on more clothes but actually getting layer over layer over layer can be impossible. There are some days I am just happy if ONE layer fits comfortably. Ya know?! Anyway, we decided to take the dogs to a new place to explore because we were tired of being trapped inside because of the weather. Ssoooooooo…….let the layers begin. Everything has to be put on strategically in order to get it all on while trying to maintain mobility and comfort. By the time I add enough layers to be warm, I look like Randy from A Christmas Story. Nothing about wearing that many layers is comfortable. Nothing.
On this icy day, we put shirts on the dogs and put our mega layers on. The wind was like razors and my eyes watered profusely for the entire time. For a mental image….I was the walking version of a pre-menstrual 20 year old who just went through a break-up, watching Lifetime movies, and elbow deep in a container of Blue Bell Wedding Cake ice cream. But the dogs loved it and that is all that matters.
Can’t wait for the warm weather!!!!! But the cold hike seemed to work. It looked like a multi-dog accident in the living room for several hours.
Kailani’s 2nd Birthday
Kai will be 2 years old and will be battling heartworms during her party but she doesn’t seem to mind. In fact, she never acted like it bothered her much. Chewy sent her a sweet card for her birthday!! We love Chewy!!
We stuffed a birthday bag with fun toys and went to Smallcakes to get each of the girls a Pupcake. We didn’t actually light the candles but wouldn’t it be super cool if she could blow them out on command?!?! New tricks to try before her 3rd birthday!! EEEK!!!
It’s a little over the top but I think it’s great to celebrate the day that my baby was born. She may not fully understand it, but she knows that she gets lots of toys and a pupcake and I think she enjoys it!! She deserves it and it’s a lot of fun for us, too.
It was a complete accident to get a picture of Kai sticking her tongue out while wearing her birthday hat. Getting a pic of her looking at the camera with her hat on was absolutely impossible so this is the best we could get!!
Don’t wait for big events……celebrate every day!! Everything is a blessing and we can find the good in all situations. Seek the light, not the dark. Always tilt your head up to absorb the sunshine!
